Helping Individual & Families Meet Basic Needs
Our primary purpose of financial assistance is to provide limited short-term aid to any resident of Mount Joy in the 17552 zip code who are in need of payment assistance for rent or mortgage, medical bills and prescriptions, utilities, clothing, or food. The financial aid is not an ongoing gift, but short-term aid only after the person/family have provided monthly income, bills and a plan for meeting those monthly commitments in the future.
When you register for assistance from Mount Joy Helping Services, you will be placed in the Community-wide CaseWorthy system which is an information management system used by Community Action Program (CAP) and other local agencies to connect people and Lancaster County services. CAP uses CaseWorthy to track how well our programs are performing. This is vital to receive program funds and in identifying unfilled needs and plans for future services.
